It’s never mentioned how much he paid for the map, but because of his history, it was likely too much. This is because it’s revealed in Endwalker that Estinien is notoriously terrible with money and being ignorant on the value of items. Y’shtola asks him how much he paid for the map anyway. This quest was given to them by none other than Thancred’s mentor!ĭuring Alzadaal's legacy trust dungeon, if Y’shtola and Estinien are both in the group, Estinien will remark that the treasure in the vaults will more than make up for the price of the map. Unbeknownst to him, there was a quest in Sharlayan that had the Warrior of Light decipher clues with no help from the journal. When asked what he was off doing, Thancred mentions trying to find his mentor in Sharlayan with no luck. Thancred returns to his traveling partner as the conversation progresses. Graha suggests that they recruit Urianger on their treasure hunt as he has been helping the Lopporrits design treasure vaults. Only a few of its students were left behind, Krile and G’raha included. The Isle of Val is the island that the Students of Baldesion were originally located on which disappeared suddenly during A Realm Reborn’s post-game content. While there Krile discusses the dusty papers her and G’raha need to sort through, saying that some are from the Isle of Val. The warrior of Light travels to the Baldesion Annex to recruit G’raha Tia. This refers to the Newfound adventure, the Myths of the Realm and a possible trip to Meracydia in the future. He asks if they have seen the vaults under the Bounty, the true identities of the twelve or if they have even been to Meracydia. The other time Meracydia is referred to is when Emet Slech asks the Warrior of Light if they have seen all they wanted to see on the source and its shards. In Endwalker, Tiamat offers the Sharlayans scales of Midgardsomr that she collected along with her brother Hraesvelgr as a material for the starship. Tiamat realizes that these are the children of Meracydia who are summoning him. Midgardsomr does not try to convince her as she seems resolute in staying.Īfter Shadowbringers however, when a group of the Scions show up to ask Tiamat about the Lunar Bahamut terrorizing the area of Paglth’an. Tiamat refuses to leave, saying that this is her punishment for unleashing such a horrid force upon the world. Midgardsomr asks if she is willing to forgive herself and break free. Tiamat is first encountered in the latter part of Heavensward. Meracydia is referenced once again during the post-game of Shadowbringers. Each was similarly captured by the Allagans and again used to power untold weapons. The Warring Triad are three primals who were summoned by the desperate people of Meracydia when the primal Bahamut was captured. Again, this occurs during the post-game in Heavensward. The second time Meracydia is referred to is during the Warring Triad side quest line. This is seen in Praetorium as well, where Ultima has three primals (Titan, Garuda and Ifrit) inside it to use as a battery. They used his body as a source to help power their weapons of war. The Allagans eventually overpowered the primal Bahamut and captured him. In her despair, Tiamat listened to the whispers of the Ascians and brought back her beloved Bahamut, but this one was twisted with rage and hatred. Bahamut fought valiantly but was overpowered and destroyed.

They lived in relative peace until the Allagans attacked the country. This is because Meracydia is a country founded by Bahamut and his consort Tiamat. The Coils of Bahamut, which addressed the questions left from even before A Realm Reborn, referenced the country many times as its existence is intrinsically linked to Bahamut. The first time Meracydia was named was all the way back in A Realm Reborn’s post-game.

This could be a possible reference to the meme of women being obsessed with dresses with pockets.

Players can request that Tataru “makes sure it has pockets” when told she is making new clothing for the adventurer. The quest does jump about a bit once it starts, so there will be some teleporting back and forth but it starts initially with meeting Tataru at the Rising Stones for tea. It seems the FF14 team can’t let go of reminding us, the players, of what we had accomplished. While Newfound Adventure is something completely new for the warrior of light, it does not mean it is devoid of its own references to the past.Įverything is new, but also familiar in the post story content of Endwalker.

But the primary story content is in The Myths of the Realm Alliance raid and in Newfound Adventure. The long-awaited release of Emperyum, the Ishgard housing estate, as well as the introduction of Adventurer Plates, a reduction of hotbar bloat and many quality-of-life updates dropped during this patch.
